Roof Leak Repair in Austin: Fast, Permanent Fixes
A ceiling stain is the end of the story, not the start. Water travels along decking, rafters and pipes before it shows up, so the leak is rarely above the drip. We find the real source, fix it and prove it with photos. Available 24/7.

Where Austin Roof Leaks Actually Come From
In our experience, most leaks trace back to a handful of spots, and none of them are the middle of a shingle field.
Texas sun destroys rubber. The neoprene boots around plumbing vents crack after eight to twelve years and leak every time it rains, and they’re the number one leak we fix in Austin. Right behind them: flashing at chimneys and sidewalls that was caulked instead of properly stepped, valleys where two slopes meet, and skylights whose seals gave up.
The other pattern is leaks that only appear in heavy, wind-driven rain. Those usually come from exposed nails, lifted shingles or a ridge vent installed without a baffle. They’re intermittent, which is why they get misdiagnosed for years.
- Cracked pipe boots and vent flashing
- Chimney, sidewall and skylight flashing
- Valleys and roof-to-wall transitions
- Nail pops and exposed fasteners
- Wind-driven rain through ridge vents
- Ice-and-water shield missing at eaves and penetrations

How We Find and Fix a Leak
A leak that comes back was never fixed. Our process is built to make sure it doesn’t.
Attic-first diagnosis
We start inside, following the water trail on decking and rafters to the entry point, then confirm it on the roof.
Water testing when needed
For intermittent leaks we run a controlled hose test, section by section, until the leak reproduces. No guessing.
The cause, not the symptom
Caulk over a cracked boot lasts a season. We replace the failed component and seal the surrounding area properly.
Interior damage documented
We photograph stained drywall and wet insulation so you have the record for insurance or for your drywall contractor.
Same-day when water is active
Active leaks jump the queue. If the permanent fix has to wait for parts, we stop the water today.
Warranty on the repair
If the same area leaks again, we come back at no charge. In writing.
Is It a Leak or Something Else?
Not every ceiling stain is the roof. We’ll tell you if it isn’t.
Condensation from an HVAC unit in the attic, a sweating duct, a bathroom exhaust fan venting into the attic instead of outside, or a plumbing leak can all look exactly like a roof leak from below. About one in five “roof leaks” we’re called for turn out to be one of these. We check, and if it’s not the roof, there’s no charge for telling you so.

Roof Leak FAQ
How do I stop a roof leak temporarily until you arrive?
Inside, move belongings, put a bucket under the drip and poke a small hole in the center of a sagging ceiling bubble to release the water in a controlled spot. Don’t go on the roof in the rain. Call us; for active leaks we come out around the clock.
Why does my roof only leak in heavy rain?
Wind-driven rain gets under lifted shingles, through unbaffled ridge vents and past exposed nails that normal rain runs over. These leaks are intermittent, so they often go undiagnosed. A hose test reproduces them in minutes.
Does homeowners insurance cover roof leaks?
It covers sudden damage from a covered event like a storm, including the interior damage the water caused. It does not cover leaks from wear, age or lack of maintenance. We document the cause so you know which it is before you file anything.
How much does roof leak repair cost?
Most single-source leaks such as a boot or a section of flashing are a modest repair, well under the cost of most deductibles. Chimney flashing rebuilds and valley repairs cost more. You get a written price after we’ve found the source, never a guess over the phone.
Can a leak be a sign I need a new roof?
Sometimes. One leak on a 10-year-old roof is a repair. Several leaks in different places on a 20-year-old roof usually means the whole system is failing, and money spent on repairs is better spent on replacement. We’ll show you which situation you’re in.
